Introduction to mold design and selection
1. One pipe one mold For a pipe, no matter how many bends there are, no matter how the bending Angle is (not more than 180°), the bending radius should be uniform. Since a tube is a mold, then, for pipes with different diameter specifications, how much bending radius should be selected? The minimum bending radius depends on the material properties, the bending Angle, the allowable amount of thinning on the outside and wrinkling on the inside of the bent wall, and the ellipticity at the bend. Generally SPEAKING, THE MINIMUM BENDING radius SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN 2-2.5 TIMES OF the PIPE OUTER DIAMETER, AND THE shortest STRAIGHT SECTION SHALL not BE less THAN 1.5-2 TIMES of THE PIPE OUTER diameter, except in special circumstances.
2. One tube two die (composite die or multi-layer die)
In the case of can not achieve a pipe mold, such as space is narrow, the assembly of customer interface to piping layout is limited, lead to more than a pipe radius or short straight line, then, in the design of curved pipe die, considering double-layer or multi-layer mode (currently we bend equipment maximum three layer mold design), even the multilayer composite modulus.
3. Multi-pipe and one mold The multi-pipe and one mold used by our company means that the pipes with the same diameter specification should adopt the same bending radius as far as possible. That is, the same mold is used to bend pipe fittings of different shapes. In this way, can be conducive to the compression of special process equipment, reduce the amount of bending die manufacturing, so as to reduce production costs. In general, the use of only one bending radius for pipes of the same diameter specification may not be able to meet the assembly needs of the actual location. Therefore, two to four bending radii can be selected for pipes with the same diameter specifications to meet the actual needs. If the bending radius is 2D(where D is the outer diameter of the pipe), then 2D, 2.5D, 3D and 4D are sufficient. Of course, the proportion of this bending radius is not fixed and should be selected according to the actual situation of the engine space layout, but the radius should not be selected too large. The specification of bending radius should not be too much, otherwise it will lose the benefits brought by a multi-tube mold. A pipe using the same bending radius (namely a tube a mold) and the same specification of the pipe bending radius standardization (multi-tube a mold), which is the current foreign bending design characteristics and the general trend, is the inevitable result of mechanization and automation instead of manual labor.
